Skin Caner Awareness Month

On May 20th, the clinic held their annual free mole-check clinic with Dr Stephen Marion and Nurse Lauren in support of Skin Cancer Awareness Month. This year’s event offered complimentary, professional mole advice and in-depth review of any moles or skin lesions for drop-in patients.

The day is designed to make skin checks approachable and convenient for anyone who may be hesitant to seek assessment. Patients were able to drop in and receive a thorough, face-to-face review by Dr Marion, who assessed concerns, explained findings clearly, and recommended appropriate next steps, whether that was simple reassurance, monitoring, or referral for further investigation.

We also provided tea and cake while they waited and educated patients on skin health and the importance of SPF. Everyone received printed materials on skin health and practical guidance for self-examination and sun protection.

This annual, free service has proved very popular, helping to remove barriers for people worried about their skin. We remain committed to continuing the clinic each May to support skin cancer awareness month, offering accessible, expert care and raising awareness of early detection for better outcomes.

If you have a mole or lesion you’re concerned about, we encourage you to attend your GP or contact us to arrange a professional assessment via the Map my Mole service we offer in clinic.
